World Hand Hygiene Day on May 5th

May 5th Thursday is World Hand Hygiene Day. This year’s slogan is ‘Unite for Safety: Clean Your Hands’, the theme is a health care “quality and safety climate or culture” that values hand hygiene and infection prevention and control. This year’s activities are focused on recognizing that people can add to a facility’s climate or culture of safety and quality through cleaning our hands, and that a strong quality and safety culture will encourage people to clean hands at the right times and with the right products.

Each year the SAVE LIVES: Clean Your Hands campaign aims to progress the goal of maintaining a global profile on the importance of hand hygiene in health care and to ‘bring people together’ in support of hand hygiene improvement globally.
