Newly Appointed World Bank Country Director Meets President
David Sislen, the newly appointed World Bank Country Director for Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Maldives, met with President Ranil Wickremesinghe this morning (04) at the Presidential Secretariat.
The meeting served as an introduction for Sislen in his new role. President Wickremesinghe had a cordial discussion with the World Bank team. Sislen succeeds Faris Hadad-Zervos, who is transitioning to a new assignment within the World Bank. The meeting was also attended by Martin Raiser, Vice President for the South Asia Region; Chiyo Kanda, Country Manager for Maldives and Sri Lanka, South Asia; and Dr. R. H. S. Samaratunga, Senior Advisor to the President on Economic Affairs.
