Prevailing showery condition in southwestern part of the Island is likely to continue further due to active Southwest Monsoon conditions over the island.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and North-western provinces and in Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts. 

Fairly heavy showers above 75mm can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Eastern and Uva provinces and in Polonnaruwa, Matale and Mullaitivu districts during the evening or night.

Maximum Rainfall of 127.9mm reported in Poddiwela farm (Galle) area during last 24-hour period.

Water levels of Kalu Ganga, Maguru Ganga, Kuda Ganga, Gin Ganga, Attanagalu Oya, Nilwala Ganga, Urubokka Ganga rivers are rising, and some rivers are reaching minor and major flood levels. Residents living near river banks are advised to be vigilant.

General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
