The rainy weather condition over South-western part (Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Southern provinces) of the island and the windy condition over the island and the surrounding sea areas are likely to enhance during next few days (particularly on 09th and 10th).
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa, North-Western, Southern and Central provinces. Heavy rains above 100 mm can be expected at some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa and Western provinces and in Galle and Matara districts. Showers will occur at several places in Northern province. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Uva and Eastern provinces during the evening or night.
Strong gusty winds up to 60 kmph are likely at times over western slope of the Central hills and gusty winds up to 50 kmph at times are likely in Northern, North-Central and North-Western provinces and in Hambantota and Trincomalee districts.

The wind speed can increase up to (60- 70) kmph in the deep and shallow sea areas extending from Mannar to Pottuvil via Colombo and Hambantota during this period from 09.30 p.m. 08 July 2021 until 09.30 p.m. 10 July 2021.
The sea areas extending from Mannar to Pottuvil via Colombo and Hambantota will be rough at times. The other sea areas around the island can be fairly rough at times.
