Railway operations along the upcountry railway line are disrupted after the train from Colombo Fort to Badulla derailed in Bandarawela.
The Railway Control Room said that due to the derailment, the Udarata Menike train scheduled from Badulla to Colombo this morning, will also be delayed.
Moreover, the Railway Department said that the night mail from Colombo to Badulla has been shortened to terminate at Bandarawela.
However, the night mail train from Badulla to Colombo Fort has been canceled altogether.
Department officials are currently working to restore the damaged track.
