A 24-year-old university student died after falling from the Bambarakanda waterfall yesterday, police said.
They said investigations were launched after receiving a message to the Haldummulla police station yesterday.
The victim was a resident of the Pambahinna area, and had visited the waterfall with several other friends.
The victim had slipped and fallen into the water.
The body of the victim remains at the Diyathalawa hospital, and the Haldummulla police are conducting further investigations relating to the death of the student.
