Universities to begin lectures with student capacity of 50 percent

University Grant Commission Chairman Prof. Sampath Amaratunga says that UGC has decided to permit universities to continue lectures and other academic activities with a student capacity of 50% from December 29 (Wednesday) while adhering to health guidelines. University officials have been instructed to take the necessary measures in this regard.

A rapid vaccination programme has been implemented in collaboration with the health authorities targeting university students. Both COVID vaccines have already been given to the academic and non-academic staff members and most of students in all universities.
