The Police Special Task Force (STF) has apprehended two individuals who have aided and abetted the shooting and killing of a man in the Nawimana area of Matara.
The suspects were arrested in a raid conducted based on a tip-off received by the Southern Provincial Operations Unit of the STF.
On October 15, a 26-year-old man was shot and killed by two people who came in a car in the Nawimana area of Matara.
The STF said that based on the investigations, the car’s driver was arrested in the Thotamuna area of Matara and he is a 29-year-old resident of the Ambalantota police division.
Additionally, a 26-year-old man, believed to have served as the lookout to carry out the murder, was arrested in Kekanadura area.
The Police Special Task Force stated that the arrested suspects were handed over to the Matara Police Station for further investigation after initial investigations.
