The Supreme Court has issued an interim order preventing the implementation of the Cabinet decision to grant approval for online Visa Electronic Travel Authorization to two private entities, Ada Derana reporter said.
Furthermore, the court has issued another interim injunction preventing the implementation of the agreements reached with the relevant foreign companies.
This order was issued while granting leave to proceed with the hearing of several petitions filed by a group including MPs M.A. Sumanthiran, Patali Champika and Rauff Hakeem pertaining to the matter, according to the reporter.
