We humbly proclaim the sacred moment of Indiraja with the Relic Casket stepping upon the ancient moonstone, at the auspicious hour, under the watchful gaze of the heavens. Thus, begins the Kandy Esala Perahera Festival of 2024, a grand procession that honours and preserves the hallowed traditions of our heritage, a rite passed down through the ages by the decree of our revered kings. Through the streets of Kandy, we shall parade, carrying forth the blessings of the Sacred Tooth Relic, bestowing grace and fortune upon all who witness this majestic spectacle.
