Sri Lanka requests a USD 300 million credit line from Russia

Sri Lanka has reportedly requested a USD 300 million credit line from Russia to purchase Crude oil, Gas and coal, reports Hirunews. Currently Sri Lanka is facing a severe forex crisis. Sri Lanka does not have adequate US dollars to pay for fuel shipments.

Recently, India has offered a new Line of Credit (LOC) of USD 500 million to Sri Lanka for purchase of petroleum products.  India came to the support of Sri Lanka at a time when there is a power crisis.
