Sri Lanka Cabinet Greenlights Medicinal Cannabis Cultivation for Export

On Monday, the Cabinet of Ministers in Sri Lanka granted approval for the cultivation and export of cannabis for medicinal use, as confirmed by State Minister Diana Gamage.

The forthcoming initiative will involve the invitation of foreign investors through the Board of Investment (BoI), with the State Minister of Tourism emphasizing that local investors will also be eligible to participate.

Additionally, investors are mandated to make investments in US Dollars as part of the stipulated requirements for participation in this endeavor.
