Health Ministry is in real-time discussion with World Health Organization WHO. Any statement pertinent to Covid19 will either be made from the Health Ministry or Presidential Secretariat. Health Minister urge all media institutions to adhere to this protocol.
Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority issued a clarification regarding the ‘COVID 19’ Protocol and Procedures for all inbound travellers released on 13th January 2023. 1. Accordingly the implementation of the program will be delayed till the 20th of January 2023.
A new Covid-19 protocol and procedures issued for all inbound tourists to Sri Lanka. All inbound tourists to Sri Lanka are advised to possess a vaccination card and tourists who are not vaccinated, should submit a PCR report obtained 72 hours prior to arrival, according to Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority.
‘Covid 19’ Protocol and Procedures for ALL Inbound Tourists
• Uniformity in Protocol and Procedures to be followed by all incoming tourists to Sri Lanka.
There will be no exception to the rule for any nationality or country, inorder to prevent any discrimination.
• Will be guided by the Ministry of Health and WHO guidelines.
• It is advocated that all incoming tourists possess a vaccination card.
• Tourists who are not vaccinated, should submit a PCR report obtained 72 hours prior to arrival.
The relevant institutions in Sri Lanka will keep a close watch on any new covid related developments in consultation with the health authorities.
