Sri Lanka Education Ministry Website Hacked
The official website of the Sri Lanka Education Ministry, https://moe.gov.lk, has been compromised by an unidentified hacker going by the pseudonym “Anonymous EEE.” The hacker left a message on the website, apologizing for the unauthorized access and highlighting security flaws within the site.
Claiming to be an A-Level student, the hacker stated, “My name is Anonymous EEE and I am currently studying A/l. Sorry for unauthorized access to your website but your website has some security flaws. As a Sri Lankan citizen, I am reporting this for the safety of my country. Fix it thanks.”
Following the breach, the website has become unreachable, indicating possible damage or temporary shutdown by authorities to address the security breach. This incident raises concerns about cybersecurity measures within the Sri Lankan government’s digital infrastructure.
