Sri Lanka begins vaccinating school teachers ahead schools reopening in August

Sri Lanka begins vaccinating school teachers and non-academic staff from from today at the Army Hospital Narahenpita Colombo. Education Minister Prof. GL Peiris says government is considering to reopen schools in August month. The plan is to reopen schools below 100 students capacity. Government has taken steps to vaccinate teachers and other staff prior to reopening schools. There are nearly 3000 schools in Sri Lanka which have less than 100 students. Minister of Education says that the government’s plan is to re-open remaining schools under several phases later.
