Over 8 million (8,232,194) first doses of the coronavirus vaccines have been administered in Sri Lanka. Over 68% of the total population above age 30 in Sri Lanka have been administered with at least the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, according to data released. As of now over 16% of the country’s population above the age 30 has received the 2nd dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The highest number of vaccines per day of 437,878 administered on July 26.

According to the Government Information Department data, Sri Lanka reached 1 million milestone for Covid-19 vaccinations program on May 12, reached 2 million milestone on June 8, reached 3 million milestone on July 5th, reached 4 million milestone on July 12th, reached 5 million milestone on July 15th, reached 6 million milestone on July 20, reached 7 million milestone on July 24 and reached 8 million on July 27. More than 8 million Sri Lankans had received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine as at July 27th. The highest number of vaccines per day of 437,878 administered on July 26.
