Showery condition to increase. Expect 100mm rains some places

The showery condition over the southwestern part of the country, is expected to be enhanced due to active South-west monsoon condition.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Northwestern provinces and in Galle and Matara districts. Heavy rains above 100 mm can be expected at some places in these areas.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in the Eastern and Uva provinces in the evening or night.

General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Fairly strong winds up to (40-50) kmph can be expected in the Northern, North-Central and North-Western provinces and in Hambantota and Trincomalee districts.
