The Education Ministry announced that all schools will function as usual today despite the teachers’ sick leave campaign.
Meanwhile, the Ceylon Teachers’ Union (CTU) General Secretary Joseph Stalin said that their sick leave campaign will continue for the second day today against the use of tear gas and water cannons to disperse the protestors yesterday.
A trade union action took place yesterday in front of the Fort Railway Station, demanding the settlement of the remaining two-thirds of salary anomalies for teachers and principals.
