A 41-year-old Russian woman staying at a popular hotel in Ahungalla has alleged that she was raped by a hotel employee on November 12, according to police.
The woman, who is a bank employee, was staying at the hotel and celebrating her birthday on the night of the incident. After consuming alcohol excessively during the celebrations, she reportedly returned to her room, the police said.
However, she has alleged that a hotel staff member entered her room and sexually assaulted her. Following the incident, the woman filed a complaint with Ahungalla Police.
Authorities have identified the suspect, the police said, noting that Ahungalla Police are conducting further investigations into the incident
