President to leave for Vietnam on state visit on May 3

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake is scheduled to leave for Vietnam on a state visit on 3 May, Cabinet Spokesman Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said.
The President will be staying in Vietnam until 6 May.
During the visit a number of agreements that are of mutual interests to both countries will be inked, Minister Jayatissa added.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet of Minister has granted approval to the following Memoranda of Understanding during yesterday’s weekly cabinet meeting.
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Bandaranaike International Diplomatic Training Institute (BIDTI) of Sri Lanka and the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam
- Renewal of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the cooperation to machinery production between the Ministry of Industries and Entrepreneurship Development in Sri Lanka and the Ministry of Industries and Trade in Vietnam
- Signing a memorandum of understanding between Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (VTETRADE) and Sri Lanka Export Development Board
- Signing a memorandum of understanding between the Department of Agriculture of Sri Lanka and the Agriculture Science Academy of Vietnam for agricultural sector cooperation.
