District Returning Officers say that all the necessary arrangements for the 2024 Presidential Election are already completed.

Colombo District Returning Officer Prasanna Ginige stated that all necessary preparations have been completed for voting at 1,204 polling stations within the district. 

Meanwhile, the Grama Niladhari Officers’ Association says that they are currently engaged in preparing all the polling stations appropriately, despite facing issues with regard to financial allocations.

The General Secretary of the All-Island Grama Niladhari Officers’ Association, Jagath Chandralal said all the Grama Niladhari officers are participating in these activities.

Meanwhile, the Postal Department says that voters who have not yet received their official ballot papers can collect them today (20) and tomorrow (21) from their local post office.

Deputy Postmaster General Rajitha Ranasinghe stated that voters can obtain their ballot papers after verifying their identity.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Elections Commission of Sri Lanka, R.M.A.L. Rathnayake said that the official ballot paper is not compulsory for the casting of votes.
