According to police, so far over 1800 arrested over the May 9th unrest in Sri Lanka. Police spokesman says 1808 suspects arrested and out of them 784 suspects remanded while about 1000 persons released on bail. Police spokesman express gratitude to the public for their interest and assistance in identifying the suspects.
Anti-government protesters set on fire and damaged the residences and offices of at least 100 politicians, including over 70 parliamentarians. More than 80 vehicles including buses which transported pro-government protesters were either set on fire or damaged.
Police further seek public help to identify suspects and arrest them over Temple Trees protest site and Galle Face Protest site GotaGoGama attacks on May 9th.
