Sri Lanka records over 1000 COVID cases again. Today Sri Lanka reported 1056 coronavirus cases. This caseload is the highest daily cases after about 3 months. Test positivity rate is also increasing and the 7-day average is about 11%.
Laboratory Tests prove that 95% of the Covid-19 positive cases reported in Sri Lanka are infected with the Omicron variant says Dr. Ranjith Batuwanthudawa, Director Health Promotion Bureau. According to the health officials, omicron variant is now becoming the dominant variant that causes most COVID cases in Sri Lanka.
