Sri Lanka government is planning to setup a new medical faculty for Uva Wellassa University says President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
Currently, there are 11 medical faculties in Sri Lankan universities and 2001 medical students have been emolled for the academic year 2020-2021.
To further increase this number, President Ranil Wickremesinghe proposes to setup a new medical faculty under Uva-Wellassa University. He proposes to allocate Rs. 200 million for the establishment of this medical faculty while presenting the budget speech.
