Keheliya’s Family’s Millions Frozen Amid Corruption Charges

 The Colombo High Court ordered to suspend fixed deposits and life insurance policies belonging to former minister Keheliya Rambukwella and his family members, with a total value that exceeds Rs 97 mn.

The suspension will be in effect for a period of three months.

On Thursday (4) the Commission of Inquiry into Allegations of Bribery or Corruption froze 16 fixed bank accounts and 3 insurance policies belonging to family members of former Minister Keheliya Rambukwella.

The total value of these assets exceeds 93 million rupees. These actions are in response to charges of money laundering under the Anti-Corruption Act.

The affected assets include life insurance policies and private bank accounts of Rambukwella’s wife, three daughters, and one daughter’s husband.
