Indian Film Fest 2025 to Begin with Inaugural Screening of “83”

The High Commission of India in Colombo is set to host the Inaugural Screening of the Indian Film Fest 2025 on January 6th at 6:30 PM at PVR Cinema, One Galle Face.

The biographical sports drama “83”, directed by Kabir Khan, will be the featured film for the evening. Released in 2021, the movie chronicles India’s historic cricket World Cup victory in 1983. It stars Ranveer Singh as legendary cricketer Kapil Dev, alongside a star-studded cast including Deepika Padukone, Pankaj Tripathi, Jiiva, and others.

“83” received critical acclaim and numerous accolades, including two awards at the 67th Filmfare Awards, where Ranveer Singh won Best Actor for his portrayal of Kapil Dev.
