Senior Mission Chief of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Peter Breuer and the delegation has met with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and key ministers of the government today (18).
During the meeting, the President has urged the IMF to maintain a balanced approach that considers the hardships faced by citizens, the President’s Media Division said.
Furthermore, Dissnayake has emphasized that the success of the IMF programme hinges on rebuilding public trust in governance, the PMD added.
Posting on ‘X’ President Dissnayake stated that the discussion was focused on tackling child poverty and malnutrition, supporting the differently abled, and fighting corruption with stringent reforms.
