In a bid to address the pressing issues of brain drain, health crisis, and concerns impacting doctors, the Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) submitted an 8-step proposal to President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The President’s Media Division (PMD) confirmed the receipt of the proposal, emphasizing the significance of the GMOA’s efforts to tackle the challenges faced by the medical community in Sri Lanka.
Brain drain, a phenomenon in which highly skilled professionals leave their home country in search of better opportunities abroad, has been a growing concern in Sri Lanka. The GMOA’s proposal aims to address this issue by outlining concrete measures to retain medical professionals and encourage them to contribute to the local healthcare system.
