Expect Heavy Rains

The rainy condition in the southwestern parts of the island is expected to be enhanced due to the active south-west monsoon conditions.
Heavy showers above 100 mm are likely at some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya and Puttalam districts.
Strong winds of about (40-50) kmph can be expected at times over the Western slopes of the central hills, Northern, North-central and North-western provinces and in Trincomalee, Hambantota and Monaragala districts.

Showers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts. Heavy showers about 100mm are likely at some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provincesand in Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.

Several spells of light showers will occur in Matale and Anuradhapura districts.
