Vice Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Sun Haiyan arrived in Sri Lanka on 23 November 2024 for a four-day official visit aimed at enhancing Sri Lanka-China relations.
During the visit, Vice Minister Sun Haiyan paid a joint courtesy call on President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath on 25 November 2024 at the Presidential Secretariat, during which, discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and deepening ties between the two nations. During the visit the Vice Minister also called on Prime Minister Dr Harini Amarasuriya.
Vice Minister Sun Haiyan was accompanied by Deputy Director General of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee Lin Tao and Director of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee Li Jinyan,
