COVID Positive Cases Increasing Again in Sri Lanka. 2921 cases detected today, highest after June 6th

For the 3rd consecutive day Sri Lanka records over 2000 COVID cases, so far today total 2921 new cases report. According to Epidemiology Unit data, 2921 new COVID-19 cases were reported July 31. Sri Lanka recorded less than 2000 daily cases since June 23. Today caseload is the highest after June 6th. Sri Lanka’s active COVID patients count again increased to 28,000.

According to Institute for Health Policy IHP data, Sri Lanka’s “Test Positivity Rate” is increasing again. Test positivity (using PCR tests) shows as 16% while seven day average shows as 15%. In July first week the rate was about 10%. Seven day average of PCR tests indicate as about 12,000.
