The Chinese government has extended its support to Sri Lankan students by donating a significant consignment of school uniforms. A symbolic handover ceremony was held on December 10 at the International Container Terminal at the Port of Colombo.
The donation was officially presented by Chinese Ambassador Qi Zhenhong to Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Training, Dr. Harini Amarasuriya.
This contribution underscores the strong bilateral relationship between China and Sri Lanka, furthering cooperation in the education sector. Speaking at the ceremony, officials highlighted the importance of such gestures in supporting Sri Lankan students and reducing the financial burden on families amidst economic challenges.
