The government has announced an increase in monthly allowances under the Aswesuma welfare program, benefiting over a million individuals across the country.
The monthly allowance for general Aswesuma recipients has been raised from Rs. 8,500 to Rs. 10,000, covering approximately 800,000 individuals. Meanwhile, the monthly allowance for the most vulnerable groups under the Aswesuma program has been increased from Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 17,500, benefiting nearly 400,000 people.
In addition to these enhancements, the government has also extended the Aswesuma allowances for the 800,000 recipients until March 31, 2025, and for another groups until December 31, 2024.
This move reflects the government’s commitment to supporting those most affected by economic challenges, providing much-needed relief to vulnerable communities across the nation.
