A woman apprehended with Kerala cannabis in Puttalam

A coordinated search operation conducted by the Navy and the Divisional Crime Detective Bureau, Puttalam led to the arrest of a woman with about 2kg and 245g of Kerala cannabis in possession at Kottantivu, Sinnapadu in Puttalam today (25 Jan 25).

The search operation was conducted by SLNS Thambapanni in the North Western Naval Command with the Divisional Crime Detective Bureau, Puttalam. The 2kg and 245g stash of Kerala cannabis was recovered after searching a house in the locality of Kottantivu, on suspicion. The search also resulted in the apprehension of a woman in connection to the incident.

The gross street value of Kerala cannabis held in this operation is believed to be Rs. 800,000.

The suspect (woman) held in this operation is a resident of Kottantivu, aged 27. The suspect, together with Kerala cannabis was handed over to the Madurankuliya Police for onward legal proceedings.
