The Department of Examinations has issued a press release on temporarily banning tuition classes and other related activities aimed at candidates of 2021 (2022) Grade 5 Scholarship.
Accordingly, organizing and holding tuition classes, lectures, seminars, workshops would not be permitted from midnight on January 18 until the Grade 5 Scholarship exam comes to an end, the Commissioner-General of Examinations, L. M. D. Dharmasena said in a notice.

It was discussed at a meeting that it would not be fair to hold the examinations August due to the schools not being conducted and the syllabus not being covered properly. It was decided NOT to conduct the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination in August 2021, according to Hiru News. Commissioner-General of Examinations Sanath B. Pujitha stated that this decision was taken during a discussion with the Minister of Education and other officials.
